How to Draw Custom Paths in a Professional Way?

Doodly has a lot of assets as Scenes, Characters, and Props. Doodly use .svg extension images. There is a lot of online platforms that provide .svg extension images, some are free and some are of course premium.

But, what about .jpeg and .png extensions and what about the person, who is not as technically skilled as to make a .svg extension image using adobe premiere or photoshop?

Here,

I am going to reveal steps to Draw Custom Paths of .jpeg or .png extension images in Doodly.

Step 01: Import the image in the relevant tab in Doodly
Don't know how to import ? Don't worry. Here is the step-by-step guide on How to Import Characters, Props, Fonts and Sound & Music tracks in Doodly?

Step 02: Click on imported image which is already in your canvas and further click on 'pencil icon' appeared above the picture
Custom Path, Step 02
Wait, wait, wait....
Before jumping on Step 03, Let us discuss the appeared next screen after clicking 'pencil icon' above imported picture.
Custom Path Menu
>> 01. Background:
There are 3 options to choose the background. All will work if you set custom path.

>>02. Actions: There are two options in 'Action' menu. The 1st one is for exit after saving your custom paths and 2nd one is for exit without saving the custom paths. I suggest you to be careful with this menu.

>>03. Tools: It has three options the arrow ↖️ to move the picture in canvas,  plus + to edit the custom paths and delete for deleting the existing custom paths.

>>04. Path Size: You can modify the thickness of custom paths through this option. I will discuss in next steps.

>>05. Zoom: Everyone well aware of this word, I know. But, my friend here is different use of it. Here, this option gives users the power to edit custom paths in very creative way. How? you will come to know in next steps.

>>06. Animation Duration: This option defines the time to appear or to be sketched on canvas. Default time is 3 seconds. You can change time as per your need and creativity.

>>07. Reveal Mode:

Reveal mode allows users to set how to appear the picture on canvas. It has two options. 1st one is draw and 2nd one is Fade. Draw reveal mode uses custom paths while there is no need of custom paths to use Fade reveal mode.

>>08. Reveal Paths: This is last but most important option. Here you can create as many paths as you need by clicking on '+new path' option in the bottom right corner of this menu. While appearing the image on canvas the 1st path will appear 1st and 2nd path will appear after 1st path and so on. So, I personally suggest you to be careful using this option as it defines the revealing of your imported image.

Step 03: You can see 'Reveal Paths' option at bottom right corner. There is only one default path there named 'Path 1'. You can rename after clicking on it. Now go to Tools option and click on '+' sign.
Now, you are ready to create custom paths. Prefer the following picture
1st picture shows that how to create custom paths using dots and 2nd picture shows the thickness of paths i.e. Path Size. The more you draw custom paths the more you see the revealing of the picture in top right corner as 'live preview'. You can change animation duration also.

Step 04: This is the last step. After step 03, just go to 'Actions' option and click on Save & return

Tips: The closer dots give more realistic and professional look to the asset.

Congratulations! You have created the custom paths for your own imported asset in Doodly.
